GFP plants, GFP amoeba, GFP fish, GFP mice, and a GFP bunny, and more, have been created in the name of art and science. however, glowing fish as pets is now a reality in Taiwan according to the Observer. glowing aquarium pets seem the most easily acceptable since the bioluminescent gene came from water organisms. this is just a primer for more designer pets to come: allergen-free & shed-free cats, mess-free parrots, you name it....even designer bacteria!
